Washington Trails Association A Seattle, Washington based group whose mission is: to preserve, enhance, and promote hiking opportunities in Washington state through collaboration, education, advocacy and volunteer trail maintenance. I am a member of the WTA.

The Mountaineers A Seattle, Washington based group whose mission is: Our mission is to enrich the community by helping people explore, conserve, learn about and enjoy the lands and waters of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. I belong to The Mountaineers and am a hike leader and Nordic (cross-country) ski trip leader.

NW Hikers Net A collection of Discussion Forums by hikers about hiking, equipment, photography, stewardship, and more. I may not always agree with what is said here but I will guarantee you will not get bored.

NWAC The Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center provides education, forecasts, resources, and more with the aim of keeping those of us playing in the snow safe and informed.

Summit Post This is a nice site providing information on climbs and scrambles not just in the PNW but around the world. Route descriptions, photos, maps, information on the red tape one will encounter, and much more is provided. This is one of my go-to sites for information on scrambles.

Jazz24 What can I say, I like jazz. This is the 24 hour jazz site from Pacific Lutheran University and KPLU radio.

National Weather Service The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's site provides more than just current weather and forecasts. It has a nice feature where you can pinpoint an area, say a mountain, and get the forecast for that specific area. Helps when you are heading out into an area where elevation can play an important role in planning your trip.

Trailspace Outdoor Gear Reviews A site where people who use the gear review the gear. Covers most outdoor gear categories. Links to sites where you can purchase the gear.
